Leaders at the G20 meeting agreed to continue efforts to limit global temperature rise by 1.5 degrees Celsius and recognized the need to accelerate efforts to phase out coal to fuel talks at the climate conference United Nations (Cop27) in a statement said at the end of the G20 meeting:
