Billionaire Elon Musk said the Twitter blue tick subscription service will be relaunched on November 29, a slight delay from its original schedule to bring the service back to the social media platform.

“Delaying the blue tick restart to November 29 has caused it to be very strong,” Musk wrote in a tweet on Twitter yesterday.

In the new version, changing the verified name will result in the loss of the blue tick, Musk said, “until the name has been verified by Twitter to meet its terms of service.”

The blue tick was previously reserved for the verified accounts of politicians, celebrities, journalists, and other public figures. But the subscription option, which is available to anyone willing to pay, was launched earlier this week to help Twitter grow revenue while Musk struggles to retain advertisers.

Last week, the Tesla boss said Twitter Blue will likely be back “next weekend.”

On Friday, Twitter paused its recently announced $8 blue tick subscription service as fake accounts proliferated.

The change came a week after Musk acquired the social media company in a $44 billion deal.
