Twitter is restoring former US President Donald Trump’s account
The social network “Twitter” has restored the account of former US President Donald Trump, according to the new company owner Elon Musk.
Musk conducted a poll on the social media platform and asked users if Trump should restore his account and about 15 million users responded and 51.8% of them voted yes.
“People have said their word Trump will be back,” Musk said on Twitter. It’s unclear if Trump will return to Twitter after creating his own platform called Truth Social.
And Trump posted on the Truth Social platform at the time Musk was conducting the poll, saying, “Now you agree, but don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere, distinguished social truth!”
Trump’s access to Twitter was suspended in January 2021, two days after his supporters stormed the United States Capitol, disrupting a joint session of both houses of Congress and killing five people.
Last Tuesday, Trump officially announced his candidacy for the 2024 US presidential election, and while Trump received a warm welcome at a Republican Party rally the day before yesterday, a large number of his potential White House rivals have criticized his skepticism about the results of the previous elections and saw that it was time to move away from the former US President.
In his first speech since announcing his candidacy in the upcoming election, Trump said in a video address to a gathering of the Republican Jewish Alliance in Las Vegas that the party had grown stronger under his leadership, and he again questioned the Democratic victory of Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. He said, “The elections were rigged. He refused to take responsibility for the Republican Party’s poor performance in this month’s midterm elections.
Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley said in a speech before the rally that she was seriously considering running for the White House.
