The head of state and the Indonesian president discuss strengthening ties between the two countries

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and His Excellency Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, discussed strengthening ties between the two countries and ways to enhance them to serve common interests as part of His Highness’ working visit in Indonesia to attend the G20 Summit at the invitation of President Goku Widodo.

His Highness and the Indonesian President exchanged heartfelt conversations during the meeting, held at President Joko Widodo’s residence in Solo, that express the depth of the ties that bind the two countries and a shared desire to continue building on it to advance their collaboration to broader areas that meet the needs of sustainable development now and in the future.

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.

The meeting touched on the importance of the issues discussed at the G20 Summit in light of the challenges facing the world that affect development, stability and security at the regional and global levels.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended President Joko Widodo’s efforts in this regard under the Indonesian presidency of the current summit.

The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Counselor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court, and HE Suhail bin Muhammad Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
