Italian rescue teams have found the body of the last person still missing in the landslide that occurred about two weeks ago on the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples, bringing the disaster’s final death toll to 12.

On November 26, heavy rains caused a landslide in Casamicciola Terme, a small town that was swept away by a huge flow of mud and debris, destroying houses and sweeping cars, some into the sea.

And on Tuesday, the Italian civil defense announced in a tweet on Twitter that they had found the body of the last person still missing in the disaster. The Civil Defense attached a picture of its members working in an area still covered in mud and debris and personal belongings washed away by the devastating flood.

The Italian government declared a state of emergency on Ischia after the landslide.
