Rescue of a patient whose heart stopped twice in 40 minutes in Saudi Arabia
According to the Saudi press agency, a team of doctors specializing in cardiology and cardiac catheterization at the King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah managed to save the life of a patient whose heart stopped twice within 40 minutes in a precise operation yesterday.
And “Jeddah Health” confirmed that the complex received the case as a life-saving case after coordination with a public hospital in the area after the results of medical tests showed that there was an infarction in the front wall of the heart muscle that led to the patient’s heart stopped twice.
She pointed out that the medical teams overseeing the case decided to put the patient on artificial respiration and install cardiac-assist medical equipment to sustain the patient’s life and stabilize his vital signs, and then transfer him to the cardiac catheterization lab , to perform urgent therapy interventional catheterization to place a stent in the anterior descending artery with the balloon in place.
She explained that after the operation, the patient was transferred to the cardiac ward under medical observation until he gradually recovered.
