A day earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan confirmed that the process of building ties with Egypt would start with the ministerial meeting and talks would evolve from that, stating that he and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi spoke during their meeting would have been in Qatar for a period of 30 to 45 minutes.

Schumaz pointed out that the handshake between the two presidents in Ankara sparked controversy and sharp criticism against Erdogan, since he had previously criticized the Egyptian regime and taken an opposing position.

The prominent Turkish politician confirmed that the vast majority of Turks are satisfied with the development of relations with Egypt due to the Egyptians’ great love record.

Chomaz said: “Erdogan has recognized that he must immediately rebuild and improve relations with Egypt.”

He added: “Egypt is a very important country in the region, with its great people, history, culture and strategic and geographical location, and its political role in the Middle East, Africa and the East Mediterranean cannot be overlooked either will. “

He indicated that the Turkish president will try to finalize the exchange of ambassadors between Ankara and Cairo ahead of the presidential elections scheduled for next June.

Abdel Fattah said: “The return of the ambassadors of the two countries could happen within a few weeks and there could be a high-level visit and a major breakthrough will be made ahead of the upcoming Turkish elections.”

He pointed out that with Turkey’s upcoming elections coming up, Erdogan is trying to use foreign policy as a map to show that he is putting Ankara on the right track and reaping foreign gains and interests in return.

The Al-Ahram Center expert said: “There are many issues regarding the return of relations that have not been disclosed and are taking place in silence, especially since the Egyptian side is not interested in announcing all the steps.”
