Kuliba calls on NATO to process Ukraine’s application for membership
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has urged NATO to decide how to deal with Kiev’s bid to join the alliance, he told reporters in Bucharest, Romania.
Today, Wednesday, Bloomberg News reported that Kuleba said, “We don’t have to stand by and stand by until the war is won.”
He called Ukraine’s delay in gaining NATO membership in 2008 a “strategic error”.
Kuleba reiterated Ukraine’s urgent need to receive tanks from NATO.
Kuleba said Ukraine and the International Atomic Energy Agency had reached an agreement that Russia should abandon the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant and that the agency would engage in “shuttle diplomacy” to achieve this.
He added that Ukraine needs thousands of generators and hundreds of transformers, but faces logistical difficulties importing them.
