Twitter’s future seems uncertain after a large number of engineers who rejected Elon Musk’s new terms of service “with dedication and no strings attached” left the influential social network.

Former employees and a slew of US media reported that hundreds of employees had replied “no” to the ultimatum from the new owner and his boss, who gave them the choice to work tirelessly to “build a revolutionary Twitter 2.0.” or to leave with three months’ notice. Salary.

Half of its 7,500 employees were laid off by the billionaire’s decision two weeks ago, and about 700 employees quit over the summer before the takeover was confirmed.

“My friends are gone. The vision is blurred. A storm is brewing and there is no financial incentive. What do you do? Will you sacrifice your time with your kids over the holidays for vague promises and get richer?

Like others who work at Twitter, he explained his concerns, stating that he “doesn’t hate Elon Musk” and “wishes Twitter to succeed.”

But he explained that only “three engineers out of the 75” who were on his team were left.

He added, “If I were to stay, I would have to work non-stop, non-stop, with very little support, for an indefinite period of time on complex computer systems that I have no experience with.”

He continued: “We were not involved in any vision or five-year plan like Tesla (…). It is purely a test of loyalty.”

Musk didn’t care about the chaos surrounding him, writing in a tweet Friday morning, “What do you want Twitter to do now?”

He then announced that several suspended user accounts had been restored to the platform, but that he had “not yet made a decision on (Donald) Trump.”

He wrote again on Twitter: “Twitter’s new policy is freedom of speech, not freedom of access” to the public and vowed to reduce “hate tweets” in the future.

And on Friday night, he launched a new poll titled ‘Return to former President Trump? Yes No”.
