His Highness is accompanied by a delegation comprising HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Counselor for Special Affairs in the Presidential Court, Minister for Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister for Climate Change and Environment, Maryam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Muhairi, Minister of State, Ahmed bin Ali Mohammed Al Sayegh, and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Indonesia, Abdullah Salem Virtual.

On the eve of the summit, US President Joe Biden arrived yesterday on the Indonesian island of Bali to attend the G20 summit, which brings together the leaders of the world’s largest economies.

Biden’s attendance at the summit follows a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and other bilateral meetings, which are scheduled to take place on Monday.

In addition to meeting Biden, the Chinese president will hold talks with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron less than two weeks after receiving Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Beijing.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will lead the Russian delegation after President Vladimir Putin announced his absence.

The President of Ukraine will participate via video at the invitation of Indonesia.

New British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s first attendance will be the G-20 summit, where he will meet with his country’s Western allies, notably Biden, to discuss bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation under the “Ocos” treaty, which Britain, brings the United States and Australia together.

During the summit, Jakarta will hand over the rotating presidency of the group to New Delhi, with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman representing Saudi Arabia.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will attend, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will also attend as he represents the only African country in the G20.

The health and finance ministers of the Group of 20 countries set up a $1.4 billion fund ahead of the start of the bloc leaders’ summit to deal with any new global epidemic that might spread in the future .

The fund, which involves 24 countries, is among the first results of the summit.

The fund was announced yesterday during a press conference by Indonesian President Joko Widodo, which included WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and World Bank President David Malpass.

“The G20 have agreed to establish an epidemic fund to prevent and prepare for epidemics,” Widodo said in a video address. Donors from G20 member and non-member countries and charities contributed to the funding. But it’s not enough.”

He pointed to the need for an amount of $31 billion to deal with any new global epidemic that may spread in the future.
