TUNIS, November 19, WAM/ The United Arab Emirates will attend the 18th Francophone Summit to be held on November 19-20 on the Tunisian island of Djerba, with a delegation led by His Highness Cultural Advisor Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh President.

His Excellency Nusseibeh began the UAE speech by conveying the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, to the summit participants: “May God protect him.” A brighter future for our countries and their peoples.
His Excellency added that the UAE, which is currently a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2022-2023, welcomes cooperation with the organization and its countries in promoting security and peace, focusing on the areas of economy, investment , climate change and food security, referring to the UAE’s orientation as the host of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in 2023, inviting the Member States of the Organization to attend this conference.

His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to working together on sustainable economic and environmental solutions that create a bright future for future generations.

His Excellency also thanked “all Member States who shared with us the success story of Expo 2020 Dubai, which presented its activities under the theme “Connecting Minds and Creating the Future” and which was attended by 193 countries and many international and regional organizations, and he spoke Special thanks to the International Organization of Francophonie for their participation in this event for the first time in their history.
