Deep tunnels and rocket travel.. A mask that presents his vision of the future surrounded by candles

Foot Elon MuskOn Monday, sitting in the dark, dressed in a traditional Indonesian tie-dye shirt surrounded by candles, he saw a vision of the future: aliens, deep tunnels and cruise missile flights.

The billionaire and new owner of Twitter appeared disembodied in a video link on Monday to address businesspeople on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali. Only his face and hands could be seen against a black background.

“Three minutes before this call, our power was cut off. That’s why I’m groping in the dark,” he told Indonesian businesswoman Anindia Bakari.

When asked why he hadn’t traveled to the Indonesian island, Musk joked that “the workload has increased a lot lately” after he took over the social platform Twitter.

He had nothing further to say about the controversial takeover, which saw thousands of employees laid off and verified account fees levied. However, he supported increasing the duration of videos on Twitter and increasing revenue from creator posts.

Aside from Twitter, the conversation turned to more complex topics like digging deep underground tunnels to fight traffic jams, traveling around the world in rockets in under an hour, and discovering extraterrestrial life in space.

“We may find strange civilizations or discover civilizations that existed millions of years ago,” he said.

“I think going there and exploring the galaxy will be very interesting,” he added.

Then the boss of electric car maker Tesla spoke about the advantages of underground tunnels over flying cars for tackling congestion, saying the cars would “fall on their heads” and were bad in terms of privacy.

“Electric cars and tunnels are definitely the answer to the worst congestion that can happen in any city because you can go down as many shifts as you want until the congestion clears,” Musk added.

Aside from his “optimistic” view of Indonesia’s future as a developing country, the intervention mostly focused on his strange and bold view of Earth’s future.

Jakarta has urged Elon Musk to use Indonesia as a launch site for the “SpaceX” rocket, citing the advantages of being near the equator.

But Musk said he would like to build rocket launchers around the world that would allow people to travel “to the other side of the world” at 20 times the speed of sound.

“I think that would really open up the world if you could travel anywhere in less than an hour,” he said.

But for all his bold dreams for the future, Musk, the richest man alive, couldn’t help but joke that he, too, is at the mercy of the ups and downs of Earth’s energy.

“I’m just watching this video and it’s very strange. I’m sitting here in the dark surrounded by candles. It’s the funniest thing,” he said.
