After the second consecutive year recording the history of the world’s largest book fair in terms of buying and selling copyrights, the activities of the 41st edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair, which ended the day before yesterday, were successful, attracting 2.17 million visitors from 112 countries.

The exhibition achieved a large presence and interaction on social media platforms, as it experienced more than 38 million interactions, and the exhibition publications reached more than seven million users, and on the visual materials of the exhibition publications reached the number of views more than 18 million views while the number of interactions with the exhibition tag reached #sibf22, more than 78 million interactions and posts with the same hashtag in Arabic and English reached 8,400 posts.

Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, said: “The Sharjah International Book Fair ended its 41st session with more than two million visitors. Some five decades ago, under the instructions of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi , Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, has grown and prospered, producing great achievements, most recently the Sharjah International Book Fair, topping the world book fairs for the second consecutive year.

For her part, the General Coordinator of the Sharjah International Book Fair, Khawla Al Mujaini, said: “The activities of this year’s session provided an integrated experience, attracting visitors from across the country, region and world, and attracting the stars from the world of literature, the… cinemas, arts and sports to participate in the cultural exhibition program and this large public participation is just an indication of the status of the Sharjah International Book Fair and its role in enhancing the experience of visitors of all ages and nationalities.”

The exhibition embodied its message in building new generations of readers. Over the course of 12 days, it received 218,000 students as the exhibition represented an important annual cultural objective to provide their libraries with new Arabic and foreign publications and an event to educate them meet favorite writers and influencers including creators, authors and content creators. .
